What Is Open Banking? And Is It Secure?

Open Banking relates to the industry push to make banking services more accessible. As part of recent regulation, banks were asked to make certain types of information more accessible to allow new companies (like us) to act on behalf of customers (you) to make life easier. Being able to see all your account balances in one place is the most common use of Open Banking, but it goes a lot further than that.

It’s all based on the notion of ‘Explicit Consent’ that means you, the customer, have to agree for certain actions to take place - nothing happens without this and once you give consent, we have to make sure all data is treated safely and securely!

What Is OneBanx Regulatory Status?

Sentenial is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).  Sentenial’s registered number is 624067. OneBanx is a PSD agent of Sentenial, registered with the FCA under registered number 936544. The FCA Financial Services Register can be accessed at www.fca.org.uk/register. You can also contact the FCA on 0800 111 6768 or 0300 008 082 or by emailing consumer.enquiries@fca.org.uk

If I Use OneBanx' Services, Would My Money Be Protected Under The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)?

OneBanx is not a bank and is not a Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) participant. OneBanx acts as an agent of Sentenial Limited to process the transactions for customers using Open Banking. If you have any questions regarding the FSCS, please contact your bank to understand more about FSCS protection.
